We are asked by visitors and people interested in moving to Ashkelon what the options are for Synagogues. Below is a list of some of the Ashkenazi shuls. As we receive more shul profiles, we will add them.

Central Synagogue of Afridar – Afridar – Orthodox

Beit Knesset Mercaz Afridar/Central Synagogue of Afridar Location: Yehezkel Zonabend St 2, Ashkelon The building was dedicated in 1959 with support of the South African Jewish community. It was recently renovated and is wheelchair accessible. It is an Ashkenaz Orthodox shul. The nusach is Sefard (not Sefardi). The congregation is among the largest in Ashkelon. Noam Yitzhak Synagogue – Afridar/Eli Cohen – Orthodox

The Noam Yitzhak Synagogue is on the corner of Eli Cohen and Kibbutz Galuyot in Afridar. It is a Modern Orthodox Ashkenazi shul (Nusach Sefard) with people of all ages and backgrounds. Shabbat davening times: Erev Shabbat: Mincha and Maariv 15 minutes after candle lighting. Shacharit: 08:30 Weekday Shacharit: 06:00 and 07:00.

Chabad House – Beit Moshe and Hannah – Afridar

Location: Corner of HaLuz and HaEshel in Afridar The Chabad House has existed for about five years and has a family and cohesive atmosphere. Our emphasis is on joint activities, classes, classes, lectures. The activities involve young and old, veteran immigrants, ultra-Orthodox, religious and secular. Morning prayer every morning at 06:15 Shabbat prayers according to the schedule. The Chabad House also runs the "Community Fridge" project, in which people can give to others, and everyone can get what they need. Kehillat Netzach Israel – Afridar – Masorti

Location: Shvil Harel 8, Afridar Established over 50 years ago, the Kehillat Netzach Israel grew in numbers, building a multi-ethnic membership including many English speakers. The Masorti shul, which is located at Shvil Harel 8 in Afridar, offers an egalitarian, pluralistic and family-orientated approach to Judaism. Kehillat Netzach Israel is an active congregation with a wide range of social and educational programs with Jewish content, reaching out into the wider community. Beit Itzchak David – Afridar/Marina – Orthodox

Location: Ground Floor, 20 Yefe Nof, Ashkelon Beit Itzchak David is situated between the entrance to Delila Beach and the Marina, on Yefe Nof (on other side to the beach, 1st building next to the car park). The shul was started by Asher Zwebner, the first service being held on Shabbat Noah 2016 (5777) and is named after his late father. The community has families from Israel, UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia and America.
