  3. Finally we can walk to breakfast

While there are plenty of restaurants in the Marina area, finding one where we could go for a cup of coffee (tea, in my case) and a piece of pastry or a couple of cookies and also met our standards of Kashrut was a challenge. When the sign appeared in the new section of the Marina (up the stairs, on Yafe Nof) announcing that Oren Meshi was going to open there, we waited with bated breath. We’ve eaten at a couple of Oren Meshi’s other spots and have always been pleased. When they finally opened a week or so ago, we were one of the first through the doors – and we weren’t disappointed. Their cakes and pastries not only look attractive but taste delicious as well, and their breads and rolls were great. There is also a selection of salads and sandwiches, which make for a nice lunch or mid-afternoon snack. (OK. You can eat it for dinner as well.) Overall, we were very pleased that they have added to the selection of food choices in the Marina area. The only drawback is that I will probably have to have the waist on my pants expanded. They are Kosher; Halavi and Pareve, under Mehadrin supervision of B’Datz Beit Yosef and the Rabbanute of Ashkelon.
