From the IDF Spokesperson:

On the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day: The Air Force will hold a salute flight over Israeli cities

The Air Force prepared a salute to the citizens of the State of Israel called “Israeli Brotherhood.” The flight will take place during the 73rd Independence Day of the State of Israel Thursday, April 15, at the end of a challenging year in dealing with the Corona virus.

This year, the jets will pass over more localities than in the past, from Dan to Eilat, in order to salute all Israeli citizens. The flight will take place between the hours of 10:30 – 13:00 and will pass over dozens of cities and major points in the country. There will also be a salute flight over the President’s House at 8:45 p.m.

The planes will include “Adir” (F-35i), “Baz” (F-15), “Tzofe” (F-16i), “Barak” (F-16) and “Lavie” (M346i) fighter jets. Assault helicopters such as “Nashof”, “Seor” and “Atlaf” and transport aircraft of the type “Ram”, “Tzofit”, “Nachshon”, “Shimshon” and “Karnaf”. In addition, Israeli police helicopters and firefighting planes will be included in the flight.

The aerobatic team of the Air Force will perform aerial performances with the “Efroni” aircraft between the hours of 08:45 – 15:00 over the following cities:

  • Tiberias
  • Nahariya
  • Acre
  • Haifa
  • Tel Aviv (beach)
  • Ashdod (beach)
  • Ashkelon (beach)
  • Jerusalem (Sacher Garden, Independence Garden)
  • Beer Sheva

For your convenience, it will be possible to follow the update of the flight broadcasts on the IDF website and the Air Force website, as well as its location and timing as they will be updated and appear in the Air Force flight plan, which will be published later.

In addition, it is forbidden to fly drones [and other aerial vehicles] in the jet area. This poses a danger to the aircraft participating in the flight and to the public watching it.
