Ashkelon Apartments for Sale
There are three popular ways of finding Ashkelon apartments that are for sale:
1. Use the Ashkelon Business Directory, which lists English-speaking real estate agents.

Using a real estate agent can mean access to apartments that are not listed on the online sites or the signs people hang up on their balconies. You also have the advantage of talking with a person who can tell you about future projects that might obstruct your view, or the quality of the building, neighborhoods or things to look out for. If you are buying from abroad, keep in mind that buying an apartment in Israel can be a difficult process and an agent here in Ashkelon can make it significantly easier. Agents in Israel might not offer the same full service as agents abroad, but there are a number of Ashkelon agents who deal with foreigners and can offer an excellent service. If you are not sure who to use, contact us and we will match an agent to your needs.
2. Online real estate sites that show photos and sometimes return on investment.
We bookmarked the ad.co.il page that searches for apartments with the following criteria:
- Listed in the past three months
- Being sold for 1 – 2 million NIS
- 3-6 rooms (2 to 5 bedrooms)
- Has parking
- Elevator
- Mamad
- Balcony (mirpeset)
When this post was written (November 2020), there were 1,271 Ashkelon apartments for sale with this criteria. You can change the setting to hone in on specifics, such as neighborhoods, condition of the apartment, listing dates, whether that sale is through an agent or private.
The advantage of using these sites is that you might find the apartment you are looking for without having to pay an agent. The flip side is that you actually get a service that you pay for when you use an agent.
3. Drive around the neighbourhood where you would like to purchase and look for signs.
You can search for available units. This method might be a good way to start, to give you an idea of what prices are like in the location you are looking at. You will not see a sign on a tall seafront apartment, which might be what you are looking for.
A note about number 2 and 3.
There is no Multiple Listing Service in Israel, so when a person lists their home, they will start with a number that sometimes does not make any sense. They probably look at the listings, see what is offered and say to themselves, if my neighbors are asking XXXX NIS for their apartment, my apartment must be worth more. Often private listings are unrealistic. When they can’t sell, they will either remove it from the market, lower their asking price or bring in an agent. Once an agent enters the picture, they have to balance the expectations of the seller and to help set a reasonable price that brings in potential buyers.
Buying an apartment or home is one of the largest expenditures a person makes in their lifetime. It is important to get solid advice on the purchase from professionals in the field.
