The Annual Ashkelon photography exhibition opened at the Marina this week. The Ashkelon that I Love, a juried exhibition, was open to both professional and amateur photographers. The show includes over 100 images, taken by 67 photographers and is on display in Ashkelon’s marina.
The show was curated by Nir Jakubowicz and requested photographers to submit images in the following categories:
- Extreme sports such as surfing, kite, skate park, paragliding
- Leisure culture
- Ashkelon from a bird’s eye view
- Businesses and industry from another angle – photography of businesses, industry and factories from an artistic angle
- Photography of “balconies” — special moments in an unconventional period
- New vs. old — modern Ashkelon alongside historic Ashkelon
- From heart to heart — situations such as helping others, helping the elderly and more
- My Ashkelon — a personal view of the photographer on his connection to the city
The show continues for a month, weather permitting. When the show is over, the photos might be sold, with the proceeds to be donated to non-profit organizations that work for the benefit of the public.
