Tikkun Leil Shavuot at the Central Synagogue of Afridar

The entire community is invited to attend the Tikkun Leil Shavuot program at the Central Synagogue of Afridar.
The shiurim will be given in English to men and women and light refreshments will be served. The program will be over by 12:30 am.

Zeev Bitman — What really happened at Mt. Sinai and how many mitzvot are contained on the luchot?
Zev Bitman studied Torah in the 1960s under Rabbi Shlomo Riskin at Yeshiva University. Throughout the 1970s Zev attended the Saturday night lectures of Rabbi Dr. Joseph Soloveitchik in Boston. He holds graduate degrees in medical research and computer software systems. Zev earned his doctorate in engineering management and served as a Technology Director at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He wrote the Torah Study Bible. Zev has been giving a weekly class in Tanach for the past three years in Ashkelon.

Rabbi Leonard Book — Did the Israelites really have Freedom of Choice at Mt. Sinai?
Rabbi, researcher, lecturer, author, translator and Kashrut representative, author of a book on the Zohar. Rabbi Book, who holds MPhil PhD MRHS degrees, wrote two theses, one on ‘The Stones of the Choshen’ and on the ‘The Trials and Tribulations of Levy Emanuel Cohen’, the first Jewish Newspaper Editer in the UK. He is also an expert on classical car engines.
Rabbi Book has had an illustrious career, traveling to over 30 countries. He was the rabbi of St Anne’s Hebrew Congregation in Lancashire before making Aliyah with his wife Margaret.

Cliff Felig — When Halacha and Ethics Conflict: the Case of the Rape of the Cohen’s Wife
Cliff Felig is an attorney in Tel Aviv. He and his wife Minna live in Ramat Gan, when they are not in Ashkelon, and they are the proud parents of Noam (Shani), Yair, Daniella (Liam) and Maayan. Cliff graduated from Harvard Law School in 1986, after which he worked as a corporate a lawyer in New York for six years. Cliff and Minna moved to Israel in 1992.
